XChat
XChat Internet Relay Chat (IRC) chat software is applicable for you if you are not averse to using Open Source software. This software is one which you can employ for the UNIX (Linux/BSD) and Windows operating systems. You can use XChat for majority of the POSIX and BSD compliant operating systems. The XChat 2.8.5e system can function in the Windows environments of version XP, and version 2000, though the download provided will only be good for a 30-day trial.

Some features that come with this XChat version are: the optional choice to install the OpenSSL libraries; fix any crash; code simplification because support for Windows ME and Windows 98 were eliminated, permitting future development to be better.
